Anyone can record slow-motion footage. Producing a finished, edited, branded film for every guest - in about two minutes each - is a different discipline entirely. On September 5, 2025, at PUMA’s TIFF50 brand activation at Liberty Grand, Booth Empire operated a TIFF Glambot rental in Toronto that ran as a complete live post-production studio, delivering more than 100 finished videos with capture, editing and delivery compressed into roughly two minutes per guest.

What PUMA Needed

A festival-season brand activation in Toronto competes with the most polished visual content in the world that week. Raw slow-motion clips were never going to be enough; PUMA’s guests needed finished pieces - edited, scored, branded - and they needed them before leaving the activation, not in a follow-up email days later.

The Live Editing Pipeline

Capture began at 240 frames per second, giving editors dense, cinematic footage to work with. From there, the pipeline ran like a compressed edit suite. Footage was reviewed immediately, and editors made genuine creative decisions on every video: selecting which sections would remain in full cinematic slow motion and speed-ramping other sections back toward normal speed, so each clip had rhythm rather than uniform slowness. Music was added. A branded graphic overlay finished the piece.

The final step was automated. Completed files were exported into a hot folder, which transferred each video to a separate sharing station - where guests sent their finished films to themselves by text message. Content was edited on-site and shared almost immediately.

Built as a Live Production Line

The defining constraint was the clock: each guest moved through capture, editing and delivery in approximately two minutes. That meant editorial judgement - section selection, speed ramps, music, overlay - happening at conveyor speed without becoming conveyor work.

The hot-folder architecture was what kept the line honest. By automating the hand-off between the edit stations and the sharing station, no finished video waited on a person to move a file, and editors stayed on editing while delivery ran itself. More than 100 finished videos moved through that pipeline over the event.

Outcomes

  • More than 100 finished Glambot videos produced
  • Capture at 240 frames per second
  • Approximately two minutes per guest from capture through delivery
  • Every video individually edited: slow-motion section selection, speed ramps, music and branded overlay
  • Automated hot-folder transfer to a text-message sharing station

The two-minute turnaround is the headline proof point: it is the difference between an activation that records content and one that produces it, live, at event pace.

Why the Pipeline Worked

Editorial made every video better than its raw footage. Human decisions about pacing - what stays slow, what ramps back - gave each clip a crafted quality automated filters cannot match.

Speed made the content usable in the moment. Videos delivered by text within minutes were shareable while guests were still inside the TIFF50 activation, not after the festival mood had passed.

Automation carried the hand-offs. The hot-folder workflow eliminated the human bottleneck between editing and sharing, protecting the two-minute standard.

Branding travelled inside the file. The graphic overlay meant every share carried PUMA with it, wherever the video went next.
