Booth Empire delivered a DSLR-based 360 video booth with a fully custom-branded video overlay for Organigram Global’s “Sip, Puff, Close” team event at Wayne Gretzky Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake on October 29, 2025. The activation was scoped to the pre-dinner cocktail window and produced 51 videos for the approximately 70 employees attending.

The Sip, Puff, Close Brief

Organigram Global used the Wayne Gretzky Estates setting to host a national sales meeting that doubled as a team celebration. The “Sip, Puff, Close” framing signalled the tone: this was a cannabis-industry corporate event built around experience, lifestyle, and team energy, not a conference-room meeting with a photo booth dropped in at the back.

That brief shaped the format choice. A 360 video booth produces high-impact, immediately shareable content, and for a cannabis-industry company whose brand positioning leans heavily on lifestyle, the format fits naturally. The output looks like premium social content rather than corporate-mandate footage, which is the threshold for whether employees actually share what they captured.

Custom-Branded Video Overlay

The overlay was not a generic template. Branding, fonts, colors, logos, music, and overlay assets were all coordinated using Organigram’s national sales meeting creative package, so every captured video matched the visual identity the rest of the event was already running. That integration is what separates a branded 360 activation from a stock one. When a guest’s clip slides into the same look and feel as the rest of the meeting’s collateral, the video reads as part of the event rather than an add-on.

The overlay work matters because 360 content travels. Each clip a guest receives and posts becomes a small piece of brand media circulating on personal social feeds after the event. If the branding isn’t built in properly, that reach is wasted. If it is, every share carries the Organigram identity out into channels the brand doesn’t have to pay to reach.

Why DSLR 360 for a Corporate Team Event

The 360 booth was DSLR-based, which is a deliberate quality choice. Phone-based 360 rigs are cheap to run and produce acceptable output for casual use, but the footage from a DSLR-based setup is materially sharper, handles mixed venue lighting better, and composites cleanly with overlay graphics. For a corporate client paying for a branded activation, the quality delta is visible in every clip.

The cannabis-industry context made the format choice sharper still. Lifestyle brand work in this category lives or dies on production value - low-quality content actively hurts the brand it’s attached to. A DSLR 360 booth produces content that holds up next to the rest of Organigram’s marketing, which means employees don’t hesitate before posting.

Cocktail Hour Engagement Window

The main engagement window ran 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. - the cocktail hour before dinner. This is the prime activation window for a corporate team event: employees are present, socializing, and not yet committed to a seated program, which makes them available to participate in something fun without feeling pulled away from the agenda.

Approximately 70 employees were in the room. With unlimited video captures included and QR/text sharing available on-site, guests could step off the platform and immediately send themselves the clip, post it, or both. That immediate delivery is what converts a cocktail-hour activation into actual social reach rather than a video that lives on someone’s camera roll and never gets posted.

Activation by the Numbers

  • 51 videos captured and produced
  • Approximately 70 employees attending the event
  • 3-hour booking window with unlimited captures
  • 6:00-7:00 p.m. main engagement window - the pre-dinner cocktail hour
  • Custom-branded overlay built from Organigram’s national sales meeting creative package
  • QR and text sharing for immediate guest delivery

Post-Event Reception

In the post-event follow-up, the client reported that the activation was “super well received.” That phrasing is doing real work: a corporate client who pays for a branded activation is evaluating whether the format produced content their team actually used and shared, not just whether the booth ran on the night. The “super well received” signal is the post-event marker that the activation delivered on both fronts.
